Nsukka Local Government is set to start fumigation of the popular Ogige market in the state of Enugu on 30th March, 2020.

This is aimed towards combating the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as the need for all public spaces in the state to be disinfected, fumigated and sterilized rises.

This announcement was made by the Fmr SSA MEDIA/YOUTH to Nsukka Local Government Council, Hon. Ngwuoke Oliver Saint in a post via his Facebook account.

“COVID-19!
The Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA Hon. Patrick Omeje Jnr. is set for the fumigation of markets and public places in Nsukka LGA as expert team of fumigators arrives Nsukka.

The fumigation exercise will commence tomorrow Monday 30th March, 2020 beginning with Ogige Market.

On this note, shop owners at Ogige market and the general public are hereby appealed to and requested to stay away briefly from their shops and the market place tomorrow between 7am – 9am.

This exercise is in good faith aimed at improving the hygiene status of the market and public places. However, every inconveniences this development may cause you is highly regretted”.
